On September 26th, 2008, Akiba's School Bus was completed. The new bus is a huge boost to the school and will ease commuting for many students. Children as young as eight years old walk long distances to attend class, and the School Bus will help Akiba serve its students more effectively. It will also help Akiba continue to expand as it attracts new students who are not in walking distance. The bus will be used for school field trips and sporting events as well and is a huge blessing to the Akiba community. Thank you to the generous donors who made this possible!

Join Pastor Moses as he invites you into his sitting room to join the thirty children who are already there. Brought to you by Light and Power Centre, a story of our neighbors next door and their efforts to uplift the poor.
In June 2008, Amber and Anne returned home to the U.S. after two years of missions service in Kenya. After teaching at Akiba School, working with youth at Light and Power Centre, and serving at Mudzini Kwetu Girl's Home in Mombasa, the two are now adjusting to a different type of life back in the states. Anne is now pursuing an M.B.A. at UNC Chapel while Amber teaches at the Smithsonian Institutes in Washington, D.C. and studies counseling at George Mason University. Both Anne and Amber continue to stay connected with their friends and with missions in Kenya.
